With a mission to create an economy that is cooperative, equitable, democratic, and sustainable, Wellspring Cooperatives is working to create a network of worker-owned cooperatives that provide jobs with on-the-job training and wealth creation opportunities for inner city residents of Springfield, MA. Hosting a variety of food justice programs such as the Go Fresh Mobile Market and the Equity Distribution Project, they have partnered with schools, senior and public housing and healthcare providers in order to create key pathways for equitable food distribution and procurement.
Wellspring Cooperatives is currently focusing on building a produce distribution hub to expand the range and quantity of produce and permit the expansion of their network to include produce deliveries to more local schools and colleges who have shown interest in their services.
