Toohnii Binaneestˀąˀ Ałtaasˀéí Alliance is an Indigenous, woman-led farmer’s collective working towards food sovereignty within the Navajo Reservation. Aiming to shift colonial food systems, ToohBAA is preserving traditional knowledge and using regenerative agriculture in order to impact food insecurity and subsequent health concerns of their people. Currently focused on revitalizing 4,000 acres of idle farmlands, ToohBAA aims to not only address food access concerns but also provide economic development to farming families through their aggregate purchasing power with contracts to educational institutions, senior centers and independent businesses.
