Southside Community Land Trust (SCLT) supports BIPOC, immigrant, and refugee farmers in Rhode Island by enabling community-led ownership of food-system assets. Through its urban and rural farms and food hub network, SCLT helps farmers grow, process, and distribute culturally relevant produce to institutions while maintaining decision-making power over contracts and infrastructure. This project will expand aggregation and processing capacity, connect more farmers to higher-value institutional contracts, and develop year-round access to fresh, local produce, fostering economic opportunity, food sovereignty, and long-term community wealth for both farmers and the communities they serve.
