2025 Grantee

Ho-Chunk Community Capital, Inc.

Ho-Chunk Community Capital, Inc. (HCCC) supports the Winnebago and Omaha tribal communities by empowering Indigenous entrepreneurs to participate in local food systems through business incubation, technical assistance, and access to capital. Led by experienced tribal leaders, HCCC helps participants obtain essential certifications, develop comprehensive business plans, and build marketing and financial skills, enabling small food businesses to enter institutional and consumer markets. Through initiatives like the Ho-Chunk Village Market, partnerships with the Center for Rural Affairs, and expansion into regional venues such as the Sioux City Farmers Market, HCCC strengthens local food procurement, creates new market opportunities, and fosters long-term economic and food sovereignty for Native American communities, while also serving as a model for equitable, community-centered food systems.
