2024 Grantee

Covenant Pathways (Spirit Farm)

Covenant Pathways, through its Spirit Farm initiative, is revitalizing Indigenous agricultural practices to create a sustainable local food system that reflects Navajo and Zuni cultural values. Utilizing regenerative grazing techniques, Spirit Farm supports local ranchers in producing and distributing nutrient-dense meats, including beef, pork, and mutton, to community institutions such as schools and healthcare centers. By expanding flocks of Landrace Churro sheep and collaborating with local ranchers, Spirit Farm ensures humane treatment, environmental sustainability, and enhanced nutritional value. As a USDA-approved meat supplier, Spirit Farm strengthens food sovereignty, boosts economic opportunities for ranchers, and improves the health and well-being of Tribal communities by connecting locally raised meats with institutional buyers.
