2025 Grantee

Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Buffalo Authority Corporation (CRBAC)

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Buffalo Authority Corporation (CRBAC), is revitalizing buffalo-based food systems to advance cultural restoration, food sovereignty, and economic opportunity for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. By coordinating tribal producers, processors, and partners, CRBAC supports the harvesting, processing, and distribution of tribally raised buffalo while honoring Lakota values and land stewardship. The initiative strengthens local economies, restores traditional foodways, and positions Cheyenne River as a regional hub for tribally led buffalo production on the Great Plains.
