2024 Grantee

Bidii Baby Food

Bidii Baby Foods, an agricultural cooperative on the Navajo Nation, is transforming food sovereignty and economic empowerment through its innovative initiatives. Their work includes the Farmer-in-REZidence™ incubator program, which equips young Indigenous farmers with the resources and skills to develop sustainable agribusinesses on tribal lands, and the operation of CHI’YÁÁN, the first traditional food manufacturing facility and entrepreneurship hub on the Navajo Nation. By blending traditional farming practices with modern food safety standards, Bidii Baby Foods addresses critical food access challenges, increases local food production, and creates sustainable economic opportunities for Tribal communities. Their efforts connect local producers to institutional markets such as schools and early childhood programs, ensuring culturally significant and nutritious foods reach those who need them most.
