2024 Grantee

Innoculated Farms

Innoculated Farms, a BIPOC- and woman-led mushroom farm in Fairfield, New Jersey, is working to transform institutional food procurement by connecting small, sustainable farms with large hospital buyers. Their innovative project aims to expand relationships with hospitals, particularly those seeking plant-based options for patient meals and staff cafeterias. By developing a procurement platform, Innoculated Farms will facilitate access for BIPOC farmers to meet institutional demand, providing high-quality, nutritious, and eco-friendly products like functional mushrooms. This project will increase profitability for small farms, create local jobs, and contribute to healthier, more sustainable food systems, while also reducing the environmental impact of the food supply chain.
