2024 Grantee

CRECE Urban Farms

CRECE Urban Farms is spearheading efforts to transform the food system in Orange County by creating a regional alliance focused on advancing equity and supporting BIPOC urban producers. Through a series of producer-focused convenings, CRECE is uniting small-scale farmers to assess their needs, build capacity, and co-develop a roadmap for accessing institutional markets. CRECE aims to address systemic inequities and establish a sustainable food ecosystem by fostering collaboration and providing resources such as training and infrastructure. Their work prioritizes frontline communities, connects producers with institutions like schools and hospitals, and highlights culturally relevant, locally sourced foods. This initiative strengthens food sovereignty and supports economic empowerment and sustainable practices across the region.
