2023 Grantee

OurSpace World

Developed in collaboration with members of an existing regional network of Black farmers, OurSpace World‘s Ujima Initiative is an outgrowth of ongoing support for systematically disadvantaged farmers, builders, healers and educators to attain sovereignty and sustainability through working together cooperatively.

Starting in Prince George’s County, MD with hopes to extend throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region, OurSpace World seeks to leverage their existing on-and off-farm technical assistance to reach even more small-scale Black and Brown specialty crop farmers.

OurSpace World expects that its efforts to increase mobile cold storage and produce aggregation capacity will serve to increase existing institutional market access for its farmers.
